Saturated And Hydrogenated Fats Raise Ldl Cholesterol

To lower high blood levels of the bad LDL cholesterol that causes heart attacks, restrict saturated and partially hydrogenated fats. You know that there's the bad LDL cholesterol that can cause heart attacks and the good HDL cholesterol that helps to prevent them. Blood levels of the bad LDL cholesterol are determined by how much saturated fats you eat in meat, chicken, whole milk dairy products and eggs, and how much partially hydrogenated fats in many prepared packaged foods, cookies, crackers, margarines, breakfast cereals and fast food restaurant items.

To lower high blood levels of the bad LDL cholesterol, read labels and think twice about eating products containing partially hydrogenated oils. To raise blood levels of the good HDL cholesterol, exercise and restrict calories from refined carbohydrates such as sugar, bakery products and pastas.
